Hillview take a trip to London

The ladies from Maple House at Hillview in Sauchie, took a 5 day holiday to London this month.

It was a full and fun packed few days, taking in all the sights and getting to see a couple of shows too! It was something the ladies had always wanted to do, and granting this wish made all our dreams come true.

Outings for the residents, especially those with dementia, are very beneficial to body and mind. New scenery and also the exercise, both help the residents keep an active social life which is key to helping someone with dementia feel happy and motivated, helping with relaxation and general confidence.

Everyone needs a sense of purpose and to enjoy themselves during the day. Encouraging someone with dementia to do something creative, some gentle exercise, or take part in an activity helps them to realise their potential, which improves their self-esteem and reduces loneliness.

Hillview Court provides specialist nursing and dementia care in a purpose built environment for up to 48 elderly people.
