Happy St. Patrick’s Day at Knowle Park

The residents and team at Knowle Park in Cranleigh, Surrey have been in full swing here for St. Patrick’s Day with our shamrock decorations and a cheeky leprechaun, that visited our home and was seen hanging around the dining room.

Our residents loved all the effort that was put into the day beginning with the Irish quiz held in the morning, to the wonderfully decorated dining room and last but not least, the delicious food prepared lovingly by our wonderful in-house chefs.

On the menu and in honour of this feast day, we went traditional with emerald eggs, Irish stew and soda bread, chocolate stout cakes with creamy topping and of course a small tipple of Guinness!

We even learnt a Gaelic greeting,  Sona lá st Pádraig! which means ‘Happy St. Patrick’s Day’ and that the Feast of Saint Patrick is celebrated all round the world on 17th March and many people often wear an item of green clothing on the day.

As we have a resident with Irish heritage, it also brought back many a happy memory for her.

So not only was it lots of fun but informative too. Overall, it was a fabulous day for all involved and it was a St. Patrick ’s Day that we won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
