A great reason to eat cake at Latham Lodge

Latham Lodge colleagues and residents tucked in when they held a “time for a cuppa” and cake afternoon recently at their home in Purbrook, Portsmouth.

The event had many colleagues baking delicious cakes and bakes to raise money for Admiral Nursing.

Home manager Sylvia Morse-Carter said “It was very well attended and there were plenty of sumptuous cakes, home made donations from many of the staff at Latham. We also had Sharon Simpson, a research nurse from Solent NHS, attend and support the event.  She spent most of her time selling cake!”

The event raised more than £70 so well done to everyone involved.

Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who give expert practical, clinical and emotional support to families living with dementia to help them cope. They are registered nurses, and have significant experience of working with people with dementia before becoming an Admiral Nurse. Most work for the NHS in communities, helping people with dementia to stay at home for longer. They also work in other settings, including care homes, hospitals and hospices.
