Gildawood Court welcomes local community for National Care Home Open Day

Local Gildawood Court care home threw its doors open this Friday to host a vintage tea party in support of National Care Home Open Day (NCHOD).

The specialist dementia home, part of the Caring Homes group, used the event as an opportunity to get to know the local community further through hosting the fun-filled event.

Students from the local college joined staff and residents for the event, bringing cakes with them to be sold in support of the residents’ fund.

With each unit in the home having its own theme, the School Road home was awash with colour. The reception was celebrating Royal Ascot, Unit 1 VE day, and Unit 4 was swinging 60’s, with the staff also dressed up for the occasion.

Gildawood Court Manager Jo Madejowska was thrilled with the effort made on all fronts:

‘We had a perfect day and the residents thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were fantastic and they looked fabulous, as they all dressed up according to the theme of their unit, which they all helped to do with the assistance of the Residents. I feel very proud and privileged to be the Manager of such a wonderful team.’

Located in the quiet village of Attleborough, less than a mile from Nuneaton in Warwickshire, Gildawood Court provides specialist dementia care in two purpose-built buildings for up to 60 elderly people. The home is run by the family-owned Caring Homes Group. Mother and son team Helena and Paul Jeffery founded Caring Homes in 1994 and the Group has grown to become a leading independent care provider in the UK.
