Fun times at Strathview

The residents at Strathview Care Home in Auchtermuchty have been getting out and about in their mini bus and getting involved in a range of activities…

The mini bus has given the home and residents the chance to plan some visits including cafe trips, a trip to the supermarket, a drive across the Tay bridge to see royalty, a jaunt in St Andrews to see the beach and the town and a short excursion to the local lock to feed the ducks and have a flask of tea.

Strathview Care Home Residents enjoy some trips out on their mini bus

Since the beginning of the year the home has had a busy few months with a range of activities including a Christmas and New Year pyjama party, concerts, crafts, baking and visitors into the home which has been fun for everyone. George Aitken came and visited us again which always goes down well with a lot of singing and dancing from residents and the staff.

Lisa has been busy making sandwiches for buffet teas as well as cakes and pizza and the baking seems to go down well especially as the residents get to eat the fruits of their labour. Salt dough is becoming a firm favourite with many residents and the items are available for family and friends if they wish.

Recently an activity group called Creative Mojo came to the home and assisted many of the residents to create amazing floral pictures that are now on display in the front foyer.

Strathview provides specialist residential and dementia care in a purpose built environment for up to 25 elderly people.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely

Paul Jeffery – Chief Executive Officer

Frank Cummins – Clinical Director
