After Easter Party at Garth House

Residents at Garth House enjoyed celebrating ‘the Easter season’ with family, staff, friends and members of the local community.

Throughout the morning everyone was extremely busy making Easter decorations for the home followed by Easter competitions and games, under the supervision of Activities Coordinator, Veronkia Chlebovcova.

After the morning celebrations, Garth House held an After Easter Party, beginning at 2.00pm. The afternoon began with a happy Easter parade by Troubadour Productions. Trouabdour Productions regularly entertain residents in care and nursing homes and have been doing so for almost ten years. They produce shows with a variety of themes including Broadway and old musicals. For their performance at Garth House, they featured terrific songs such as Younger than spring time, At the Hop, Chirpy Chripy and Cheep Cheep. Many other favourite songs were also performed in the performer’s bright, Easter costumes which included Easter themed hats.

After the performance, everyone enjoyed tea and cake and it was lovely that so many residents chatting and laughing with loved ones and staff. The smiles on their faces remained for a while, some until the next day! “This was a wonderful morning and afternoon” said Veronika Chlebovcova, Activities Coordinator; “Everyone got involved and we always enjoy seeing families and friends of our residents at Garth too. The performance was really good fun and lots of our residents continued to sing the songs long after the performance had finished!”

Lots of photos were taken throughout the day and are now displayed in the reception area at Garth House on an electronic digital photo frame which is a big attraction and helps residents to remember the good times of recent activities and events held at Garth House.
