Drop In Cafe To Offer Respite To Wimborne Carers

Staff and residents at a Wimborne care home are holding a Carers Café coffee morning to offer advice and respite to full time carers in the local area.

The Magna Care Centre are inviting carers and the people they care for to the event to be held on the first Wednesday of every month starting on 1st February.

There are approximately 6.4 million people in the UK providing care for ill or disabled loved ones. It is estimated that unpaid carers save the NHS and local authorities as much as £119 billion a year.

The Magna provides residential and specialist nursing care for up to 65 elderly people and is run by the family-owned Caring Homes Healthcare Group. Mother and son team Helena and Paul Jeffery founded Caring Homes in 1994 and the Group has grown to become a leading independent care provider in the UK.

The Carers Café will offer an opportunity for guests to seek advice and expert knowledge from the highly trained staff at The Magna, as well as share their experiences of care.

In addition to the support and information on offer, staff are also organising an impromptu game of ‘Countdown’ for their visitors.

There is no need to book and refreshments will be provided. If you require any further information about the event please call: 01202 601 831.

Home Manager, Helen Pessell, said:

“We are delighted to be hosting this Carers Café for people in our local community who share our passion and commitment for care.

“We are hopeful that people will join us to discuss caring, gain information and advice and meet other carers in the community.”
