Dons Melody Makers visit Rendlesham

The residents at Rendlesham Care Centre in Rendlesham were entertained by the wonderful Dons Melody Makers this week.

It was a great afternoon with the residents singing and playing instruments to a variety of songs. Don and his team are always fantastic at getting the residents to participate in the day.

Whether it be listening to the smooth, soft tones of Jazz or winding down with classical notes from the comfort of a chair, music can improve the quality of life of older people in numerous ways. Music has been used to help thee elderly overcome symptoms of depression, anxiety and loneliness for a number of years, groups such as Dons Melody Makers help our residents come together as a group expelling loneliness and helping them enjoy the time together. The sessions are also great for mobility and dexterity.

We look forward to Don and his team returning again soon.

Rendlesham Care Centre provides specialist residential, nursing and dementia care in a purpose built environment for up to 60 elderly residents.
