Delilah is the ‘mane’ attraction for Walstead Place residents

Delilah, a miniature pony, brought big smiles to the faces of residents at Walstead Place care home in Lindfield last week when she paid a ‘neeeighbourly’ visit.

Part of the patting assisted therapy mini equine team, the diminutive equine was happy to walk up to residents both in the lounge and, for those not able to get out of bed, in their rooms.

Jacquie Ferguson, Home Manager of Walstead Place said:

“Everyone was more than delighted to meet Delilah and give her a stroke and pat. The expressions on the residents’ faces and their reaction to meeting Delilah was amazing to see. Also Delilah’s response to our residents was so moving as she seemed to sense their needs and was so gentle and loving.

Seeing animals brings pleasure to everyone, especially when they are as calm and gentle as this little pony. She was so well behaved, even toilet trained. All of us at Walstead Place are eagerly looking forward to her next visit.”
