Coxhill Manor enjoy Coffee Concert at Guildford Cathedral

Coxhill Manor care home in Woking residents Ken, Sylvia, Hazel and Nel joined Activity Coordinators Sandra and Jo on a trip out on Thursday 20th April to the latest in the series of Coffee Concerts at Guildford Cathedral.

We travelled by the trusted Bustler Bus and arrived in plenty of time to relax and enjoy the coffee before the concert started at 11.15 am.

The concert was a treat indeed with Solo Cello Suites performed by Czech cellist Frantisek Brikcius.  The Cello Frantisek played was a ‘George Kriwalski’ Cello made in 1904!

Resident Nel particularly enjoyed it as her grandson plays the Cello.  She told us he’s only 11 years old and carries the Cello on his back. She’s so proud of him.

Sylvia has recently moved into Coxhill Manor and this was her first trip out with us. She was really happy to be out as she loves company. Sylvia and Ken chatted and laughed throughout the morning, they definitely share the same sense of humour.  It’s so nice to see new friendships between like-minded people developing.

We kept the music theme going when we got home to Coxhill Manor.  After lunch Sandra put the musical ‘Singing in the Rain’ on the big screen in the conservatory as during the visit to the Cathedral Sylvia had mentioned how much she loved musicals.

Our next visit to the Cathedral is on Thursday 18th May to enjoy the next in the series of Coffee Concerts – The Rock Choir. We can’t wait!

At Coxhill Manor care home in Woking we provide residential, nursing and specialist dementia care for up to 58 residents.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
