Coppice go to Haskins Garden Centre and Box Hill

Five residents from Coppice Lead; Tony, Beryl, Keith, Ruth, and Gillian, were all invited out for morning tea and cakes at Haskins garden centre in Copthorne.

They all enjoyed browsing inside and outside the garden centre, taking time to look at all the plants of the season that had just arrived. Haskins is well known for delivering beautiful items for the home such as pictures, pots, clothes and furniture. The Residents enjoyed chatting to various people as they browsed through the garden centre, the staff were very welcoming we stopped for a morning coffee break complete with lemon slices and fruit cakes for half an hour. We then got back on the bus and headed to the Kings Head public house in Horley for lunch. Fish and chips, steak and ale pie and scampi was enjoyed by the residents, they thought it was cooked to perfection. Beryl enjoyed a glass of wine and Tony enjoyed half a lager, as we had the bus for the day we thought we would make it extra special.

After lunch we returned to Coppice Lea and sang all the way home.

In the afternoon four of our residents; Harry, Alan, Stanley and Mary, came on a second trip as we hopped on the bus again and went sightseeing to Box Hill, Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking and Buckland.

When we arrived at Box Hill, Tony the bus driver parked where we all could admire the views. Annie and Jo the activities staff ordered tea and cakes from the tea shop so that everyone could drink and eat cake whilst taking in the views, again we sang all the way home.

The Residents said that really enjoyed the sightseeing trip and thanked Tony the driver.
