Come and enjoy our Macmillan Coffee morning at Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant care home in Burton-upon-Trent will be holding a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning annual event on Friday, September 29th.

All are welcome to pop into this impressive home and enjoy a piece of homemade cake and a cup of coffee between 2pm and 4pm on Friday.

Home Manager Nikki Kelly said;

“We would love to welcome people from the local community to come and see our beautiful home and to share some coffee and cake with us – raising money for a very worthy cause at the same time.

“As well as coffee and cakes we will have a small tombola and we are holding our own ‘Bake Off’ competition.”

The first ever Macmillan coffee morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective it was launched nationally the following year and since then has raised over £165.5 million for Macmillan.

One in three people will face cancer, and the money raised through coffee mornings will help to make sure no one has to face it alone. Macmillan Cancer Support provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support, as well as campaigning for better cancer care.

Mount Pleasant care home, run by Caring Homes in Winshill, is a modern, purpose-built care home that provides outstanding residential and residential dementia care for up to 50 elderly residents. Enjoying beautiful views over the Staffordshire countryside, the home offers a calm, peaceful and tranquil environment close to the town centre.
