Christmas at Castle View

Throughout the Christmas period, we have seen Castle View Nursing Home turn into a winter wonderland, with trees sparkling and staff dressed up, it was truly magical. Not only did the staff enjoy an evening of Christmas cheer at the Highway Man in Peel, the residents also had a Christmas party to remember too.

December also allowed us to really theme the activities towards a winter feel, with us having an advent church service, students from University College Isle of Man (UCM) delivered presents and gave their time for each resident and enjoyed a game of Christmas hangman with the residents. We also had St John’s and Peel School come in and sing Christmas hymns and songs, hand bells played tunes for us and we had many other bands and choirs come to the home to make the period a very special one!

Victoria from the Health and Wellbeing department went around to each resident to ask what they wanted from Santa, she then went on to forward the letters to the North Pole in good time in order for the residents to receive what they wanted off their Christmas list.

On the 24th December, Santa came to Castle View with his reindeer; they went to each room to hang a stocking and offered each resident a nice Christmas beverage. Santa then returned to the North Pole in order fill his sleigh in time for delivering all the presents. That evening Santa returned to Castle View to fill up the stockings and leave each resident a touching letter – which really was heart felt!
