Caring Homes recognised for contribution to ‘Connecting’ Project

Abbeycrest Manager Marilyn Kimayong had the opportunity to meet Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt recently as she collected a certificate of appreciation from the Department of Health (DOH) on behalf of Caring Homes. Abbeycrest was one of the first homes to host DOH representatives back in December 2013 as part of the DOH ‘Connecting’ project, aimed at providing DOH staff with a better understanding of what life is like for staff and residents in a care home. The representatives spent two days at Abbeycrest and got involved in all aspects of daily life including mealtimes and activities. Marilyn joined fellow Caring Homes representatives Avril Jones and Sally Lorch in visiting Admiralty House in London, where they collected a certificate of appreciation for the organisation’s contribution to the project. Located in the quiet village of Sonning Common, in the heart of the Chilterns, Abbeycrest is one of Caring Homes’ newest care homes, offering exceptional residential, nursing and dementia care.
