Birthday celebrations at Claydon House

There was another birthday on the cards at Claydon House this week, with popular resident Dorothy celebrating 99 years young.

The staff and residents hosted a delightful party at the Sussex home with tea, finger food and homemade cakes on offer and Dorothy’s favourite music playing throughout the morning.

With several of Dorothy’s family in attendance, the highlight was a big sing-along that lasted over half an hour, with the well-known songs including ‘Pack Up Your Troubles’ and ‘Que Sera Sera’.

Dorothy was thrilled with the effort that everyone at the home had gone to on her behalf, saying ‘I can’t believe all these people are here for me. I am a very lucky old lady… wonderful!’
Located on a quiet residential crescent at the heart of Lewes, Claydon House provides care and nursing support for up to 47 people.
