Belmont House celebrate National Care Home Open Day in Style

At Belmont House Nursing Home, we opened our doors wide and welcomed residents, relatives, friends and members of our local community to a St George’s and Queen’s Birthday Afternoon Tea event for National Care Home Open Day on Saturday 21st April.

The weather was beautifully sunny and bright and our residents and guests enjoyed a wonderful time basking in the sunshine, listening to our local singer and entertainer Adam Toomey, who kept everyone royally entertained with a range of songs, both new and old.

We went to town decorating our garden with the St Georges day theme and our residents and guests enjoyed a delicious traditional afternoon tea.

We even had celebratory cakes to represent St Georges Day and the Queens birthday and these were presented to our residents who dressed up as the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.

Home Manager, Arthur Tanare said:
“it was great to see everyone get into the spirit of the event and have so many people come and join us to celebrate National Care Home Open Day. There was fabulous entertainment and a delicious assortment of refreshments available with the cakes proving to be very popular with everyone.”

“We would like to say a big thank you to all our team, residents, relatives and guests who came together to support and enjoy this occasion with us. It is very much appreciated.”

We have lots of exciting plans for future event here at Belmont House. Why not come back to our news page and find out more about our next events…

National Care Home Open Day (NCHOD) is all about Linking Communities with care homes. It’s a chance to celebrate all the different people, cultures and relationships in the area and show the community that care homes are friendly, happy and exciting places to be.

Care homes open their doors to celebrate NCHOD every year, with key values at its heart: friendship, making connections and celebrating older and vulnerable people. Care Home Open Day is now in its 6th year, allowing people to step through the threshold of their local care home and discover the warmth and laughter waiting within.

At Belmont House we provide specialist residential, nursing and dementia care in a purpose built environment and continuously improve the lives of our residents through offering wide ranging activities and events, both in and outside of the home involving members of the local community as often as possible.
