Belmont House celebrate International Nurses Day

At Belmont House nursing home in Sutton, we celebrated International Nurses Day with our team and residents at our home on 12th May.

This date is the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth and International Nurses Day is a day celebrated around the world to mark the contributions nurses make to society. This occasion also encourages people to take the time to thank a nurse or show appreciation of the work that they do.

Arthur Tanare, Home Manager commented:
“I am very proud and highly appreciative of our team of nurses, carers and therapists here at Belmont House. They are so passionate and consistently go above and beyond to deliver superb care for our residents. Their care, compassion, caring attitude and experience enhances our residents’ health and wellbeing every day – a fact that is recognised by our resident and family testimonials and this day was another great opportunity to say a big Thank You.”

Belmont House Family Member:
“From the moment our family interacted with Belmont House, they could not have been more helpful and more supportive. The nursing staff were amazing and the management did whatever they could to help. Excellent all round!”

Marissa Manio, Belmont House Nurse commented:
“I love my job and helping our residents enjoy a high quality of care and wellbeing which enables them to live a fuller life. At Belmont House, we all work together as a team to achieve this goal so it is very rewarding and it really feels like we are just like one big family here.”

The job is really varied and can be challenging but it is very worthwhile and fulfilling. After all, there’s nothing better at the end of the day than making a difference to someone’ life and if our residents are smiling and happy, then I know I’ve done a good job and I’m happy too.”

So from all of us at Belmont House to all the hardworking nurses and carers out there, thank you for all the hard work you do to care for others and for doing your best to improve people’s lives.

At Belmont House we provide specialist residential, nursing and dementia care in a purpose built environment and continuously improve the lives of our residents through offering wide ranging services, activities and events, both in and outside of the home involving members of the local community as often as possible.
