Ballet at Tall Trees

The residents and family at Tall Trees Nursing Home in Chipping Norton enjoyed a Ballet Class and demonstration this week.

It is important to understand our residents and what they did or enjoyed in the past, two of our residents Mary and Monica were ballet teachers in their younger years, so this activity was set up with them in mind. They both thoroughly enjoyed reminiscing about their past as ballet dancers, teachers, ballet techniques and how things have changed.

Everyone had a go at the arm and some of the leg movements, the chair took the place of the traditional ballet barre for those who couldn’t stand. Everyone looked at the ballet shoes and tutus that they bought along as well.
