Bake Off at Mill House

We all agree at Mill House care home in Chipping Campden that there is nothing better and tastier than baking and eating our own biscuits so with this in mind and with tummies already anticipating the goodies to come, Dominika our Activity Coordinator arranged a ‘Bake off’ afternoon for our residents on Wednesday 3rd of May.

With lots of help from Rob, our fabulous Chef who measured all the ingredients and made them ready for us, we were ready to start making the biscuit of choice for the day, shortbread biscuits as we love these with a nice cup of tea.

Our residents really enjoyed this activity especially Hazel as she looked very engaged in the task so much so that she took over the baking from Dominika and was in charge of all the activity. Mixing the pastry and cutting out the shapes whilst instructing the others how to do it properly she whipped up a storm and got all our residents motivated with her enthusiasm.

After we finished making the biscuits they went into the oven to be baked ready to be served together with our afternoon tea. They were absolutely delicious and so once again our ‘Bake Offs’, which are a regular favourite on our activity schedule, proved to a real recipe for success!

At Mill House care home in Chipping Campden we deliver the highest standards of residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 45 elderly residents.
