Bake Off at Ferfoot for Macmillan Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning

At Ferfoot Care Home in Chippenham, we held a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 29th September for our residents, relatives and friends and are delighted to announce we raised the fantastic amount of £110.00, to help Macmillan make sure no one has to face cancer alone.

We held a Bake Off competition which members of our team entered and they arrived on the day laden with some amazing culinary creations. The prize of The Best Baker Award went to our Head Chef for his Black Cherry Cake which was truly delicious and worthy of the prize. However, we all agreed that our Home Manager, Nikki Stone’s Bread and Butter pudding was also a winner with everyone.

The event was really successful and lots of fun. We all set to the task of tasting and judging the selection of cakes on offer with gusto along with tea, coffee, lots of lively chatter and laughter.

Home manager Nikki Stone,

“We had a great coffee morning; it was a lovely chance to socialise together whilst fundraising for a great cause and helping Macmillan make a real difference to peoples lives.”

“These days are great for the residents at Ferfoot as it brings them together with their friends and of course a great excuse to eat lots of yummy cake!”

“We are very proud to say we raised £110.00 for Macmillan and would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped on the day, attended the event and all who donated.”

“For all of us at Ferfoot it was lovely to see so many people get involved in our Bake Off competition and help support us. We are looking forward to our next event.”

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
To Whom it may concern,

RE: A message from the CEO and Clinical Director

At Caring Homes we are following the latest Government advice and stopping visitors to all our homes, except for essential visits by healthcare professionals who will be required to adhere to strict protocols.

We understand that this may be very difficult for families but we are clear in our duty to ensure we protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our Residents and Colleagues as our top priority.

We want you to know that you can contact your loved ones through calls, emails, video and social media and we will support our Residents to view any messages you send over. We are confident that the teams in our homes are doing all they can to ensure that life remains as comfortable and sociable as possible. There will be a full programme of activities delivered by our in-house health and wellbeing teams.

We hope you will understand and support these actions and any further subsequent measures we might need to put in place.

Yours sincerely
