Whittington House host their Autumn Fair

Whittington House Nursing Home in Cheltenham held its first Autumn Fair on Saturday 7th October and it was a resounding success.

We had an array of visiting stallholders who showcased a range of stalls including crafts, beauty and games. The good old fashioned tombola was very popular as was the bric-a-brac stall.

There was entertainment for the children who were kept amused by a “hook a duck” game and had to the opportunity to wear glitter tattoos and get their faces painted with some wonderful designs.

Refreshments of teas and coffees were available and the complimentary BBQ in the garden went down particularly well with our residents, families and guests.

The live music was one of the highlights of the afternoon and we were all entertained in style. A relative of a resident commented how wonderful the singer was and she really hoped he would return as he sang songs both she and her husband loved and knew all the words to.

An added attraction to the afternoon was “Walks with Hawks” who brought a couple of their birds of prey to show giving us all a hands on and close up of these beautiful birds. They are regular visitors to our home and it was great to showcase them and share their great work to members of our local community.
