Abbeycrest bowled over by Caversham Gala Day

Abbeycrest Care Home in Sonning Common was delighted to support the Caversham Bowls Club recently by sponsoring their Annual Gala Day competition.

The mixed pairs event is always fiercely fought, with over 40 people taking part each year and cash prizes for the winners and runners up.

This year David Quint and Diane Faulkner from Peppard Bowls Club (left of picture) took the spoils and Ian Wickes and Pam Burr from Tilehurst and Woodley Bowling Clubs respectively (right of picture) came in runners-up.

The day was well supported by the local community and the excellent standard of bowls was supplemented well by the popular raffle, stalls and an auction of promises.

Abbeycrest Manager, Babi Dixon told us:

‘Everyone had a great time at the gala day. It is always wonderful when the community comes together to support these events and it is important to our residents that they remain an active part of the wider community.’

Located in the quiet village of Sonning Common, in the heart of the Chilterns, Abbeycrest is one of Caring Homes’ newest care homes in Berkshire, offering exceptional residential, nursing and specialist dementia care.
