A touch of the Irish

On Thursday 12th November the residents at Ivy Court were joined by an Irish singer called Gerry. He brought along his guitar and sang a mixture of well-known classics and some traditional Irish ditties. The residents and their families sang, danced and clapped along for the full hour. Half way through Gerry gave a little more insight to the traditions of Irish music and gave everyone the chance to experience the wonders of the Irish whistle.

Not only did we enjoy Gerry’s musical entertainment, but we also had a special birthday. One of our residents was celebrating her 80th, so we all joined together in singing to her and then got messy with some lovely birthday cake provided by her husband. We’re looking forward to welcoming Gerry back again next month.
