Team Leader -Registered Mental Nurse– Sandhurst, Berkshire
Harts Leap is an independent hospital, which specialises in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with enduring mental illness and the care of elderly people who have complex mental health needs and dementia’s. Harts Leap is dedicated to providing an open, homely environment within a safe setting. The hospital is divided into 2 wards, namely Connaught and Wellington.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the service user’s needs
• To create and maintain with the staff an environment in which all members of staff can contribute to the maximum of their ability in providing a high standard of skilled nursing care to the service users and encourage recognition of the service user as an Individual.
• To assist the Manager in all aspects of managing the hospital, ensuring high standards of care are provided for residents.
• To demonstrate awareness of how clinical procedures related to service users care are carried out and administered to maintain their well being and to prevent symptoms of ill being
• To demonstrate dissemination of information and reporting to Manager
• To recognise the legal implications of nursing documentation
• To be aware of and able to demonstrate relevant statutory legislation and company policies and procedures e.g. CS Act, NMC guidelines, Health and Safety (see role specification)
• To adhere to all procedures (see Policies & Procedures Manuals) implemented in the Hospital and demonstrate understanding in practice
THE PERSON:
• Previous experience in a similar role of supervising teams of RMN’s
• Must be an NMC Registered Nurse
• Preferably an RMN but will also consider an RGN
• Should have a working knowledge of the legislation surrounding both independent Hospitals and the mental health act
• Strong team skills
• To be person centric
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good oral/written communication skills
• Awareness of current Health and Safety Procedures
