Laundry Assistant
We are a well established care organization that provides a safe and homely environment where the unique needs of individuals are recognized and skilled staff is available. To ensure this they offer training and development for all staff to ensure that service standards are achieved.
Your will be reporting to the Home Manager and will organise and control the efficient maintenance of high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with EHO regulations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Sort washing into relevant groups, where applicable, and process it through the washer, drier and iron
- Ensure the laundry room is clean and tidy. On a daily basis: wash down washers, dryers and laundry bags; clean lint trays/vents; mop floors
- Ensure statutory Health & Safety standards in the laundry area
- Report to the Home Manager, or the Handyperson, any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard
- Promote safe working practice in the Care Centre
- Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Care Centre
- Ensure the security of the Care Centre is maintained at all times
- Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained
- Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Ability to maintain a high level of hygiene within the home
- Basic Hygiene Certificate
- Flexibility to work extra hours if required
- Can demonstrate patience and understanding
- Good interpersonal skills
