As a Hospitality Assured organisation Caring Homes is committed to ensuring that each of our residents receives first class hospitality above and beyond the traditional expectation of a ‘care home’. Our homes employ qualified chefs, who work with the care teams and residents to deliver menus that not only meet nutritional requirements, but also provide outstanding choice and quality. Savoury mince and mashed vegetables are definitely not the order of the day at Caring Homes.

At the beginning of the day residents may relax with breakfast in bed, or enjoy the companionship of friends in the dining room. A choice of continental style or traditional English breakfast provides a pleasant dilemma.

Lunch is the main meal of the day, ensuring that residents enjoy a fine meal and the opportunity to savour it over time, aiding the digestive process. Residents always have a menu choice at lunch and, where dietary requirements allow, may enjoy a glass of sherry or wine with their meal.

Evening meals are normally served at around 6pm and tend to be lighter than lunch, again to facilitate digestion. Whilst we encourage residents to enjoy meals in the social milieu of the dining room, as this is an important component of daily interaction, residents may of course choose to have meals in their room.

Very special consideration is given to the dietary requirements of residents living with a form of dementia. Meals are carefully prepared to ensure they support hydration and those residents who may not be able to eat a main meal are supported to eat little and often throughout the day.

We are proud to meet the Hospitality Assured Standard, which is traditionally associated with service and business excellence in the hotel industry. An organisation is only awarded this standard following a rigorous inspection process undertaken by the Institute of Hospitality.
