Tall Trees

Tall Trees is a prestigious purpose built care home, constructed from local Cotswold stone and surrounded by delightful rural countryside. It is superbly situated on the edge of Shipton under Wychwood, in the Cotswolds, close to the market towns of Chipping Norton and Burford, and the attractive spa town of Cheltenham.

Tall Trees sits in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is surrounded by rolling hills and idyllic limestone villages. The home overlooks the village cricket club, and has easy access to local amenities, shops and public transport. Oxford and Stratford are within 20 miles, providing good road and rail links close by. The home provides nursing, residential and specialist dementia care to elderly people. It has been purposely designed to assist dementia sufferers, with first class care facilities to ensure a stimulating and individualised approach to care.

Accommodation

Tall Trees care home has a warm and friendly ‘home from home’ atmosphere, with hotel style services. The accommodation and environment are exceptional, having been specifically designed by a team of architects who have a comprehensive understanding of the needs of older people. The home provides comfortable, bright and spacious accommodation, which is laid out over two floors, all fully accessible via lift. There are three quiet sitting rooms and four spacious lounge/dining rooms, which include cooking facilities to enable residents to maintain their independence. The home has 60 light and airy en-suite bedrooms that provide a choice of accommodation to suit
individual needs. All rooms are furnished and decorated to a high standard and residents are encouraged to bring a few of their cherished belongings with them to help them feel at home. The central quarter bedrooms on the ground floor benefit from their own delightful contained garden areas. The rear of the home features a glorious orchard with
a wild flower meadow which makes for spectacular views. There is also a contained courtyard style garden that has been carefully designed to provide residents with an accessible and stimulating environment in which to socialise with friends and family, take part in activities or simply relax in a safe environment.

Professional Nursing & Healthcare

At Tall Trees dementia and nursing home we pride ourselves on being able to provide comprehensive short and long-term packages, carefully designed to meet the needs of each individual.

On duty 24 hours a day, our dedicated multidisciplined team provides high quality care appropriate to individual needs. Our key focus is inproviding a safe, homely and supported environment with a positive person centred approach. The Tall Trees team carry out “life story” work using our ‘Golden Years’ methodology, so that appropriate care plans can be tailored. Building a life story fosters a positive relationship and developsa genuine understanding of an individual’s life, needs and interests before they developed dementia. Care plans are also developed with the help and input of relatives, in order to support each individual resident according to their precise needs. The plans are regularly reviewed, to ensure that appropriate care is delivered at all times.

Lifestyle

Dining is an important part of life at Tall Trees care home. We place great emphasis on traditional cooking and offer a wide variety of choice. A fully qualified chef prepares all meals, which are carefully planned to ensure they are high in nutritional value. We are happy to cater for special diets and individual preferences. In addition to breakfast, lunch and supper, hot and cold drinks and a range of snacks are available throughout the day. Our dedicated Activities Co-ordinator ensures thereis always something going on, including regular outings, and will accommodate special interests wherever possible.

Visitors

We operate an "open visiting" policy, and residents are welcome to invite whoever they choose into their personal living space. We encourage visits from family members and friends to ensure that they are completely happy with the environment. Visitors are welcome at any time during the day or evening, subject to the care and rest needs of
individual residents. We also welcome residents to invite friends and family to join them for meals.

Short Stays

Subject to availability, we also welcome short-stay residents who simply wish to enjoy a break with us, require a period of convalescence, or wish to sample the lifestyle with a view to to becoming a permanent resident in the future.
