Walstead Place, an elderly residential care home owned by the Caring Homes Group located in the West Sussex town of Haywards Heath, recently held a coffee morning to help raise funds as part of Macmillan Cancer Research’s, ‘Worlds biggest coffee morning’ campaign.
The event took place on the 28th September, and raised £110, thanks to an enthusiastic turnout of friends and family of residents and staff, and local villagers who came along to the home for a hot drink and a slice of home-made cake prepared by the homes’ own qualified chef. The Caring Homes Group who own Walstead Place, will generously be supporting an additional contribution towards the money raised by the home.
Residents and staff regularly take part in charity and fund-raising events. In the past they have taken in events to raise money for the Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund, Jeans for Genes and Breast Cancer Awareness. Besides regular fundraising activities, a dedicated events organiser ensures that there is always something going on at the home, including in-house activities such as Bingo, exercise classes and entertainment from local groups and societies. As well as this residents are able to go on regular outings, thanks to the homes own mini-bus.
Walstead Place is a stunning 19th century home, located in the small and delightful hamlet of Walstead, within beautiful gardens of some 2½ acres.
The home has recently undergone a substantial refurbishment and extension programme and is beautifully furnished throughout, providing a gracious and welcoming home for elderly retired ladies and gentlemen.
Short-stay residents are welcome at the home, including those who simply wish to enjoy a break, have a period of convalescence, or sample the lifestyle and facilities with a view to becoming a permanent resident in the future.
