The largest independently owned care home group, Caring Homes, has appointed Andy Fairchild as Chief Operating Officer.
Andy gained a Degree from the University of Bristol and in the early 1990’s completed an MBA from the University of Warwick Business School. He has an extensive career in banking and financial services and was instrumental in introducing the very first telephone banking via First Direct.
Before joining the Caring Homes Group, Andy held corporate positions with major companies including Axa plc, where he was Chief Operating Officer. He was responsible for over 2000 employees, which instilled customer and leadership focused skills, developed through managing sizable teams of people.
Andy will be responsible for the day-to-day operational performance of the business, including the Group’s high profile brands – Caring Homes and Consensus. He will be based at the company’s headquarters in Colchester, reporting directly to Paul Jeffery, CEO.
Paul Jeffery says: “Andy brings a huge wealth of expertise, experience and proven team leadership and management skills to the Group. He will be instrumental in cementing our future and taking the group to the next level.”
Andy will spend the first few months’ getting to know the business and working closely with the Management team.
Andy says of his appointment: “My induction is a great example and demonstration of Caring Homes practising what they preach – managing change in a quality way. Quality is the heart of the organisation and is exactly what has made the business the success it is today. I am lucky enough to be spending time with the team, getting to know and understand the business at every level to enable me to gain an insight into the philosophy, culture and ethos that have been so carefully built in the last decade. It is a magic that I intend to embrace full heartedly.”
Paul concludes: “This is a very exciting time for us in the development of the business. Andy’s skills, extensive customer focused experience and appreciation of quality is key for the continuing expansion of the Caring Homes Group. We welcome him warmly to the organisation and the industry.”
