Hillside Care Home is a beautiful Victorian house in Kings Hill, Great Cornard, Sudbury. Hillside has been sympathetically converted to provide exceptional residential care for elderly people in an attractive, ‘home from home’ setting.
Hillside House has been thoughtfully furnished throughout to offer a gracious and comfortable care home for elderly residents. Recent refurbishment provides residents with modern facilities and additional space. As well as new en-suite bedrooms many of which enjoy views of the peaceful grounds, the extension includes an additional bathroom and assisted toilet for comfort, a sun deck, and a new brick built and extensively glazed conservatory-style sitting room has been added to the rear of the building, with French doors opening on to a sundeck, surrounded by the home’s pleasant lawns.
At Hillside house it is everyone’s wish to provide ‘home from home’ comfort that is friendly and enjoyable. Care is positive and optimistic under the experienced guidance of Home Manager, Janet Warner, who has a dedicated and compassionate team of qualified and experienced staff, who are on duty around the clock. A reassuring facility beside each bed is the 24-hour nurse call system, which residents can use to alert staff at any time. Employed by the home for 19 years, Janet has developed an excellent reputation within the local community and with healthcare professionals for the provision of high standards in care, a result of Janet’s experience and highly trained and motivated team.
To ensure we continue to maintain high standards of care, Hillside Care Home is independently assessed by inspectors from the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) and National Quality Assurance, who inspect the home to ISO9001 quality accreditation, which we have been awarded.
Activities and outings are an important part of life at Hillside. Located right in the centre of Great Cornard, it is ideal for residents who wish to get out and about. In-house, there is always something going on, thanks to the Activities Coordinator who works alongside a committee, which everyone has an opportunity to join. Just how involved you want to be is entirely up to you, but you are always welcome to put forward your own ideas.
Dining is also an important to us at Hillside House. A fully qualified cook prepares all meals, with an emphasis on traditional home-style cooking. Meals are carefully planned to ensure they are of high nutritional value, and great care is also taken in their presentation.
