Caring Homes Group adds new home to portfolio

The Caring Homes Group, the UK’s largest independent care home provider, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Heffle Court, a residential care home for dementia sufferers, located in Heathfield in East Sussex.

The acquisition of Heffle Court expands the group's portfolio of dementia homes in the UK. Marketing Director Emma Charlton remarks: "With the growing trends in dementia it is important that dementia care demands are met. We intend to invest and expand our portfolio and Heffle Court is a great addition in our dementia care offering. Our experience ensures we help residents to maintain and retain their dignity and independence, and provide them with excellent care – something that we feel very strongly about.”

Situated in Heathfield, an area of outstanding natural beauty, Heffle Court is a purpose-built home providing residential care for 34 elderly residents with all types of dementia illnesses.

The home has a wide range of comfortable leisure and dining areas, as well as a safe, secluded garden for residents to sit and relax. Rooms are spacious and individually decorated, with an alarm call system and ensuite bathrooms. Residents are also encouraged to personalise their rooms with small pieces of their own furniture and valued possessions.

In addition to this, the home has planning permission to build a large state-of-the-art extension. The new extension will include the addition of more spacious ensuite bedrooms and communal areas, enabling the home to expand their care offering even further.

Highly experienced and dedicated staff working with those who have dementia illnesses work with the resident’s family to develop a tailored set of care plans to address each individuals needs. All residents are treated with respect and dignity, and special care is taken to ensure that they retain their independence for as long as possible.

Located within easy distance of local shops and facilities, Heffle Court has good links within the community of Heathfield. Regular outings are arranged and supervised by staff to places of local interest. Since joining the Caring Homes group the home is in the process of appointing a social co-ordinator who, in line with the philosophy of the company, will support key activities such as reminiscence workshops and art/music therapies.

Dining is an important part of life at Heffle Court. A fully qualified chef prepares all meals, which are carefully planned to ensure they are high in nutritional value, which is of particular importance to our residents with dementia. The emphasis is on traditional home-style cooking, and an à la carte menu is offered. Residents are welcome to invite friends and family members for lunchtimes, encouraging them to maintain relationships outside the home as well as within.

Jane Baillie, manager of Heffle Court, says: “We are very excited about being a part of the Caring Homes group. Providing excellent care for our residents is very important to the staff at Heffle Court. The Caring Homes Group has a fine reputation for excellent standards in training and care.”
