TV chat show star Kaye Adams will return to her Scottish roots for the grand opening of a new, state-of-the-art care centre on 27th June 2007.
The host of the lunchtime programme, Loose Women, born in Falkirk, will be the guest of honour at the opening of a unique, purpose-built centre for people with learning and physical disabilities in Clackmannanshire.
The grand opening of the Marchglen Centre will provide an opportunity for local VIP’s, professionals from within the industry and other key guests to see the outstanding facilities the new care home has to offer.
Marchglen is the latest venture by the UK’s largest independent care home group, Caring Homes, and benefits from sophisticated, hi-tech medical equipment normally only available in hospitals. It also offers a wide range of facilities designed to provide residents - including those with neurological conditions or those who have suffered brain injury - with the highest possible level of independence and quality of life. The facilities include a sensory suite, an Internet café, a hairdressing salon, a complementary therapy centre and a shop, due to open shortly. The care centre also provides specialist gym equipment, designed to help residents maintain mobility during rehabilitation.
The care centre, divided into four separate houses, also benefits from a large day care facility and workshop and a full time occupational therapist.
“Marchglen is certainly the way forward with regard to residential care of this kind,” said Jackie Morrison, Caring Homes’ Regional Manager for Scotland. Jackie continues: “It is situated in a beautiful location overlooking the Ochil Hills. The individual houses give it a very home from home feel and each house has its own name and its own front door. Each house is also staffed by its own team, specially trained to meet the specific needs of residents in that particular unit.”
Jackie added: “Marchglen is very hi-tech and, for residents with advanced conditions, it has facilities such as piped oxygen and suction normally only available in hospitals.”
Phil Osborne, Development Director for Caring Homes Group said: “Caring Homes is extremely proud of Marchglen and we feel it provides the very best care available for people with physical and learning disabilities. At Caring Homes we are passionate about improving the quality of residents’ lives and Marchglen offers all the facilities necessary to enable us to do this to the very best of our ability.”
