Congratulations to Emma Gore, Senior Care Assistant at Whittington House Nursing Home in Cheltenham who has just passed the Caring Homes City & Guilds accredited ‘Living in my World’ Bronze Certification. Emma is one of the key members of our the team who will be supporting the leadership of the Dementia Unit at our home.As well as ongoing training in their particular field, every team member at Whittington House receives our unique ‘Living in My World’ dementia training. It highlights the importance of meaningful activities and a stimulating environment for people living with dementia, as well as addressing clinical aspects of care.Caring Homes has been commended for its commitment to training in November 2016 and were honoured with the prestigious ‘Princess Royal Training’ Award.Lyndsey Dixon, Home Manager commented“The ‘Living in my World’ training means every member of the team understand how and when to change the way we speak to our residents and how we can use gestures to help support those living with dementia.
