Walstead Place staff attend dysphagia workshop

As part of their ongoing professional development, two members of the Walstead Place care team recently spent a fascinating afternoon attending a dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) workshop to learn the difference between a normal and an abnormal swallow.

Diana Madron and Mar Moore learnt all the signs and consequences of dysphagia and how to avoid these issues, which they were able to pass on to their colleagues at the West Sussex home. Diana and Mar did so well at the workshop that they got a special mention by the training company.

Located just a mile from Lindfield, Walstead Place is a 19th Century former country squire’s residence, sensitively converted to provide residential and nursing care for up to 41 elderly ladies and gentlemen.
