Walstead Place hosts wartime celebration for D Day anniversary

Walstead Place was awash with red, white and blue this week in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the D Day landings.

Many of the staff and residents dressed up for the nostalgic event, which saw plenty of food and drink from the wartime era being served up as part of a themed ‘street’ party. With songs from the war years providing the entertainment, there was also plenty of time for reminiscence throughout the day.

Located just a mile from Lindfield, Walstead Place is a 19th Century former country squire’s residence, sensitively converted to provide residential and nursing care for up to 41 elderly ladies and gentlemen.
