Topping Ceremony for Home of Compassion

Home of Compassion reached a new milestone in its history this week, with a topping out ceremony to signify the final stages of its restoration by Caring Homes Group.  The Thames Ditton landmark will open as a luxury care home soon after 18 months of refurbishment and renovation.

The final roof tile was fitted in the presence of building contractors MP Brothers with colleagues from Caring Homes to celebrate this achievement.

Julie Mason, Senior Operations Director, Caring Homes said: “We are delighted to have maintained the unique character of this historic Grade II* building whilst transforming it into a modern-day luxury care home. The painstaking work means that its residents can live in a very comfortable and prestigious setting designed with their needs and wants in mind.

“We have renovated and refurbished the main building, Priory and Chapel as well as building a new East Wing. The views over the river to Hampton Court are stunning, particularly from the main house reception rooms and bedrooms.”

Home of Compassion will provide care for up to 79 elderly residents and specialise in residential, nursing and dementia care. The marketing suite will open in February 2016.

The home is part of the Caring Homes Group which was established in 1994 by registered nurse Helena Jeffery and her son Paul. Since then the company has grown to become one of the most highly respected independent care and support providers in the UK.
