Strathview scoops ‘Top 20 Recommended Care Home 2016’ in Scotland award

Well done to Strathview Care Home who have been awarded a certificate for being recognised as a ‘Top 20 Recommended Care Home 2016’ in Scotland by carehome.co.uk. These awards highlight the most recommended care homes in each region of the UK. The awards are based on over 55,000 recommendations received from residents/families and friends of residents from February 2014 to February 2016.

This is the first year Strathview has been awarded this, so we would like to congratulate the Manager Margaret Choudry, and the rest of the care team. Caring Homes would also thank those people who took time out to go on carehome.co.uk and recommend Strathview.

One recommendation that influenced the judging was from David M, brother-in-law of one of the residents at Strathview. He said: “After visiting several local care homes to select one for respite stay for my brother-in-law who has dementia we came upon Strathview. Initial impressions were clear and immediate. Open welcoming, organised, scrupulously clean. All levels of staff very tuned in to needs and concerns of the resident. I was impressed by the professionalism and directness of the manager and her approach to assessment of our needs. A two week stay was arranged and went extremely well it was clear that my relative was very quickly comfortable with the staff and surroundings. Always smartly dressed and cared for. No request was too much trouble. The staff made a difficult transition very painless and reassuring. I would say pretty much as good as it gets.”

Strathview provides residential care for up to 25 elderly people in a modern purpose built home. Ideally situated close to the shops and amenities of Auchtermuchty, Strathview’s location also affords wonderful views over the surrounding countryside.
