With sunny days in short supply this summer, the residents of Oaken Holt Care Home in Farmoor were relieved to avoid the rain as they spent an afternoon on the banks of the River Thames recently.

Gareth Homfray Davis and Edwin Shearman, pictured, were two of the residents who enjoyed lunch at the Rose Revived pub, followed by a relaxed afternoon watching the various leisure activities on the river including canal boating and kayaking.

Bernie Allen confirmed that the unusual weather was making trip-planning tricky:

“It has been a case of taking the dry days as and when they come this summer! Thankfully the weather held for what was a lovely afternoon by the river for everyone.”

Set within 23 acres of gardens and parklands in the heart of Oxfordshire, Oaken Holt is a magnificent country estate offering residential and nursing care for up to 55 discerning ladies and gentlemen.
