The Pearly King and Queen visit Walstead Place

The atmosphere of the East End was brought to Walstead Place this week when we had the Pearly King and Queen visit our residents bringing with them shrimps, jellied eels, cockles and herring for the residents to taste.

For some it brought back some lovely memories especially when their old favourite songs were sung including ‘Lambeth Walk.’ They all got involved and had a good old fashioned sing-a-long.

Jacqueline Ferguson, Home Manager said:

“It was a great event and they all enjoyed the food tasting and the entertaining performance by the Pearly King and Queen.”
