Staff and residents at  Burton upon Trent care home, Mount Pleasant Residential Care Home, have been enjoying a week of mother’s day themed activities.

The home has been awash with colour and nostalgia with residents taking part in flower arranging, making their own Mother’s Day cards and enjoying tea and specially made Mother’s Day pastries.

Residents also took part in reminiscence sessions and poetry recitals, taking the opportunity to share stories of their families and loved ones.

Mount Pleasant is a purpose-built home providing residential and specialist dementia care for up to 50 elderly people.

Home Manager, Anne-Marie Robinson said:

“Mother’s Day means a lot to our residents, so we thought why not celebrate it for a whole week?

“Everyone has had a wonderful time and the home has looked a picture with the beautiful floral arrangements and cards our residents have made.

“We are passionate about providing varied and engaging activities provision for all our residents and ‘Mother’s Week’ was a prime example of this.”
