Mount Pleasant residents enjoy regular trips to Planters at Bretby

Mount Pleasant residents regularly enjoy trips to Planters at Bretby, a local garden centre offering plants, household items, pets and delicious food. Every two weeks residents visit the centre with Eve Connolly, Activities Co-ordinator at Mount Pleasant.

The trip is thoroughly enjoyed by residents who are able to stroke pets including rabbits, hamsters and guinea pigs. It’s a popular trip among residents as they are able to also browse the beautiful plants and gardening equipment.

“The mental and physical wellbeing of our residents is of the utmost importance to us at Mount Pleasant” said Nikki Kelly, Home Manager; “A trip to Planters provides our residents with the chance to stroke pets which is a great sensory experience, especially for those living with dementia. This helps our residents’ wellbeing and we are really thankful for Planters for letting us visit so regularly.”

Residents at the home regularly engage in a diverse and varied activities provision designed and thought-out by Eve Connolly. Eve selects a wide range of activities to ensure there really is something for everyone. Staff at Mount Pleasant take the time to get to know residents to ensure their hobbies and interests are being fulfilled through the activities provision.
