‘Minnie’ proves a huge hit at Claydon House

Claydon House would take some beating as the most animal-friendly care home. Residents and staff have been very taken with the newest arrival, Minnie the Chihuahua. Minnie belongs to Emilie Watson, Activities Coordinator at the home and now comes to work with her every day by popular demand.
The Lewes based home has always recognised the important therapeutic effects of animals in everyday life and staff are keen that residents are able to enjoy the company of animals at their leisure should they so wish. Minnie joins Ms. Doris Day, the home’s resident hamster as a firm favourite with everyone at the home.
Claydon House offers a wonderful blend of the old and the new in one breathtaking location. The home, which delivers residential care, nursing care and specialist dementia support for up to 47 elderly people, is based around a beautiful double-fronted Victorian house – a former Admiral’s residence – with a purpose-built new extension providing the very highest standards of dementia care.
