5th October 2015
Justine Greening, MP for Putney, Roehampton and Southfields visited The Pines for afternoon tea with residents earlier this month.“Ms Greening spoke to all of the care team on duty about their roles and tasks, was very interested in the care services on offer and particularly complimented on the friendly atmosphere and interaction of residents with their surroundings,” said the Home Manager: “She was also very thankful for the historical overview of the home that I provided and said she would love to be invited back to our home in the future.”The Home Manager greeted Justine Greening at the door and gave her an overview of the care on offer, before taking her on a tour of the building. The Pines is a period property, formerly a substantial family home. The home provides nursing care for up to 43 older people and specialises in cancer and palliative care, as well as care for those with Parkinson’s disease, a visual or hearing impairment, or those requiring orthopedic support, or specialist care after a stroke. The Pines has a real ‘home from home’ ambience and a light, bright and airy atmosphere.Ms Greening met with care colleagues and residents, stopping for a while to speak with one resident, Mrs Ash, a resident at The Pines for a year and a half year. Mrs Ash was very happy for the opportunity to talk to her local MP so personally. You can find out more about The Pines, a nursing home in Putney, here.
