Karate and Dance display at Coxhill

The residents at Coxhill Manor were very lucky to be visited by 16 year old Katie, one of the resident’s granddaughter’s. She offered to come into the home and show the residents her skills. As a black belt in karate, Katie did Kata which is a detailed choreographed pattern of movements, punches and kicks, stepping and turning maintaining perfect form! Kata was once used as a combat training method and as a result one of our residents commented that it reminded him of when he did Karate in the army.

Katie followed her Kata performance with a modern dance routine which she had choreographed herself.

The staff and residents absolutely loved the displays and couldn’t believe how high she was jumping in the air!

Katie is a very talented young girl, all the residents have said how they enjoyed it and want her to come again! Thank you!
