Hanne’s a charity champion!

One selfless carer went the extra mile (or few) recently to raise hundreds of pounds for Diabetes UK as she took on the Reading Half Marathon.
Hanne Kruse Olsen, who works at Abbeycrest, completed the gruelling 13.1 mile race as a contribution to the Caring Homes ‘Charitable Partnership’ initiative for 2013/14, whereby each of the 56 care homes across the group are working together to raise thousands of pounds for their two chosen charities, Parkinson’s UK and Diabetes UK.

Hanne completed her run in 2 hours 5 minutes and raised over £300 in sponsorship for the charity, supported by staff, residents and relatives.

Located in the quiet village of Sonning Common, Abbeycrest offers exceptional residential, nursing and dementia care in the heart of the Chilterns. The home is run by the family-owned Caring Homes Group, which was founded in 1994 by mother and son team, Helena and Paul Jeffery.
