Getting creative at St George care home in Bristol

At St George care home in Bristol, residents benefit from an extensive and varied activities provision which can often encourage them to be as creative and imaginative as possible.

Residents recently became creative with paintbrushes and paints by creating beautiful butterflies to decorate the home. Residents could decorate their piece of artwork in any way they fancied, with a choice of colours and shapes.

“This was a fun activity which allowed our residents to get creative and a little bit messy!” said Regina Mparutsa, Home Manager: “Our residents often enjoy these types of activity sessions as they allow them to create something to decorate the home with. The finished products looked fantastic and we will definitely be using the paints and paintbrushes again in the future!”

As part of Caring Homes, St George operates the Caring Homes ‘Living’ programme, designed to meet physical, social, cognitive, sensory and emotional outcomes through a five-a-day approach to meaningful and stimulating activities. With a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator at the home, residents benefit from activities that meet these needs. Activities are also tailored around residents, which means that if something is particularly popular, it will become a regular feature at the home.

St George care home in Bristol provides nursing care for up to 67 elderly people. Situated three miles from Bristol City Centre, the home provides a friendly environment with a relaxed atmosphere. Set over two floors, the dedicated care team take time to get to know the residents and their families.
