Garth House welcomes ‘Jaws and Claws’

Garth House welcomed some rather unusual visitors this month, giving many of the residents the opportunity to prove just how brave they can be…

‘Jaws and Claws’, a local company specialising in animal handling, were invited along for an afternoon with their selection of unusual animals. Snakes, rats, scorpions and bearded dragons were just some of the animals on show and many of the residents were brave enough to stroke and even hold some of the collection.

The company also gave a talk on all the animals, which everyone found very interesting. Many of the residents are already talking about what they might have up their sleeves for the next visit.

Located on the western slopes of Tower Hill, just to the south of Dorking in Surrey, Garth House is a period home that has been sympathetically converted to provide exceptional nursing and dementia care for up to 40 elderly people.
