Garth House celebrate The Queen’s 90th birthday

Staff, residents and relatives at Garth House celebrated The Queen’s 90th birthday on Friday 13th May. The day was organised by Activities Co-ordinator, Veronika Chlebovcova and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

The room was decorated in patriotic colours with bunting, balloons and all things blue, white and red. Everyone was dressed in these colours too which helped with the patriotic feeling throughout the afternoon. All our residents, families and staff enjoyed a wonderful selection of savouries, cakes and wines and a Royal quiz kept everyone entertained and in high spirits.

“This was a fantastic afternoon” said Roz Salmani, Home Manager; “It was fantastic to have so many family members involved, which we always welcome. Thank you to Gill White, a relative who came along to assist for the whole afternoon which was very helpful. The food was fantastic and it was truly lovely that everyone was able to join in. This was an inclusive afternoon and the atmosphere was amazing – we all enjoyed lots of singing and toasting to The Queen!”

Residents at Garth House enjoy a range of activities, trips and visits throughout the year and friends and relatives are always welcome to join in. The Home operates an open visiting policy, so loved ones may visit their relatives at the times most convenient for them.
