Forth Bay celebrate 95th Birthday and a trip to Bo’ness Railway

William, a resident at Forth Bay Nursing Home in Kincardine, celebrated his 95th Birthday on 13th May 2016.

The day before his birthday his family took him out to the Woodsman in Fishcross for a celebratory meal. We held a Birthday Party at the home on the 13th when Bill was presented with a bottle of whisky by the Home Manager Fiona Day.  Entertainment on the day was provided by Robbie Curran who managed to have the residents up dancing and having a jolly time.

As an avid train fan, William then had a special day out on the 16th May when our Activities Co-ordinator took him to the nearby Bo’ness Railway to see the Flying Scotsman and to visit the Railway Museum there. The museum is Scotland’s largest railway museum full of railway locomotives, carriages and wagons. William also got a chance to operate the signal points and see and learn about the heritage locomotives.  We also got to walk around the visitor trail and see the last remaining “Glasgow Blue Train”, which is a recently restored Class 126 Diesel Multiple Unit.

I have a feeling William will be asking to go back again soon.
