Ferfoot welcomes local community for National Care Home Open Day

Ferfoot care home opened its doors again this Friday to host a vintage Victorian tea party in support of National Care Home Open Day (NCHOD).

The specialist dementia home, part of the Caring Homes group, used the event as an opportunity to get to know the local community further through hosting the fun-filled event.

The home sourced vintage china from local charity shops and the team joined forces to make an astounding array of cupcakes for the guests. As well as the main event, the home also raised over £50 for their designated charity, Parkinson’s UK, by selling recipe books and the leftover cup cakes.

Ferfoot Manager Nicki Stone was thrilled with the turnout for the event:

‘This was a very important event for us. It offered a great opportunity to challenge the preconceptions that many people have about life in a care home and offer people a taste of life at Ferfoot.

 

We work hard to ensure our residents play an active role in the local community, so this was a great opportunity to invite people in and show off our wonderful care home.’

Situated in the attractive market town of Chippenham, Ferfoot provides the highest level of residential dementia care for up to 52 elderly people. The home is run by the family-owned Caring Homes Group, which was founded in 1994 by mother and son team, Helena and Paul Jeffery.
